Re-domiciliation Regime Introduced in Hong Kong

Effective May 23, 2025, Hong Kong has launched its company re-domiciliation regime, following the passage of the Companies (Amendment) (No.2) Bill 2024.

Non-Hong Kong-incorporated companies meeting specific criteria can apply to re-domicile to Hong Kong, maintaining their legal identity and business continuity.

Re-domiciled companies will be treated as Hong Kong-incorporated entities, enjoying the same rights and subject to the Companies Ordinance. For application details, please refer to The Companies Registry’s guidebook:
